QUICK HISTORY

  • NARPRO started in October, 2004 in the Phoenix, AZ market.

  • It was started by Alan Tarr and Jay Jennings, owners of Marketing Associates AZ. Our mission was to help top, independent, neighborhood auto repair shops bring in new customers in a cost-effective way.

  • NARPRO's message was simple-and remains so today. "The Easiest Way to Find an Honest Mechanic". We evaluate all shops to make sure they meet or exceed our 26 tough standards before they earn a NARPRO recommendation.

  • We understood, and are very proud that most shops cannot meet these standards-so our membership boasts the best (though often not the fanciest) repair facilities in the area.

  • Over the ensuing five years, NARPRO built a strong marketing program tailored specifically to the independent repair shop. The program used Radio spots, Internet and Pay-Per-Click campaigns, Public Relations, Event Sponsorship, and On-site signage, and an effective website.

  • The member shops pay dues which goes-primarily-to support the advertising and PR efforts and maintain the website and other infrastructure. Between 30% and 39% goes to the franchisee.

  • From 2005 – 2009, NARPRO generated over 20,000 referrals to our member shops in Phoenix.

  • Renewal rate is over 90%.

  • NARPRO first named "Best of the Valley" by Phoenix Magazine (2008)

  • Partnered with Arizona Cardinals Charities to donate auto repair services to "Helping Hands For Single Moms"- recipient of their 1st Annual "Extra Mile Award" (2008)
