DelphiTech's business interest is focused on product sales through intelligent, well trained and supported dealers. We have a low dealership cost of $12,900 to reduce the barrier to entry and open the opportunity to some who might not otherwise be able to afford a business start. At DelphiTech™ we know what works and what doesn't in terms of getting this business going. Our dealership cost includes training, on-going support, use of demonstration equipment, setting up our infrastructure to support you, and optional access to our professional marketing materials. We show you additional tools and items you need to purchase from local stores to equip your dealership properly. You will need a vehicle - car, SUV, or truck that will accommodate a normal roof rack to carry a couple of ladders. In the beginning a small marketing budget of a few thousand dollars will help in creating awareness of your company.

Because of the variety of models of factory sealed fixtures – dealers typically operate under a built-to-order approach, so no fixture inventories are required. Depending on his/her rate of doing sales, often a dealer will combine multiple sales in a shipment. No storefront is needed. You meet at a customer's home, by invitation, to design, demonstrate, and sell a lighting solution for their specific requirements. There are no annual fees and no royalties and you setup your own company name and run your own business as an "Authorized DelphiTech™ Dealer".

The Dealership Model – A Sophisticated Home Improvement Trade

A DelphiTech™ dealer is effectively a specialized and sophisticated tradesperson who provides a unique lighting service. He/she markets, designs, sells, and installs a lighting solution – all leveraged by the training and support we provide to the dealer in how to best use our product line. In many areas of North America, the home upgrade market is lucrative, and the trade an enviable one on the forefront of the newest lighting technology. As in other trades, individuals with equal beginnings succeed at different rates. Those with lesser aptitudes for marketing, selling, and practicing their craftsmanship will have more modest results. This is not a franchise or distributorship, but is a dealership operating under our license agreement. To be a dealer, you should be able and willing to market, sell, and install in your area a low voltage low wattage class-II rated electronic system where installed system pricing is typically $2500-$4500. Check your trade restrictions first – in most provinces and states you do not need to be an electrician and you will not be required to have special contractor trade classifications that would prevent you from operating this kind of business. You should be comfortable climbing ladders and dealing with the public for a non-pushy consultative sale at their home, typically done in the evening.

This can be a very enjoyable part-time or full-time business and could be an add-on to another trade, facilitated by the low dealership cost for a large non-exclusive operating region (typically 120km or 75 miles in diameter). Do you see many home owners in your large territory who are upgrading the exteriors of their properties: e.g., a deck, decorative garden, patio, interlock walkway, or other aftermarket upgrades? If so, you may be in a good market. Also consider the summer home and resort property areas. They offer potential when disposable income is being spent on improvements.
