The premier gym for serious fitness and Southern California's fitness enthusiasts, our Venice gym quickly became known as "The Mecca of Bodybuilding", and received international acclaim in 1977 when it was featured in the movie Pumping Iron.

Since our first franchised gym opened in San Francisco in 1980, Gold's Gym Franchising has been the #1 health club franchise in the world. In 1993 we reached 1 million members and less than a decade later, in 2000, we had reached more than 2 million total members.

In just four amazing decades, Gold's Gym has become the largest co-ed gym chain in the world, boasting more than 600 facilities in approximately 43 states and 27 countries.
