MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Residents of Morris, Bergen and Passaic counties have gained a valuable resource following the recent opening of IKOR of Northern New Jersey. The new office will assist professional designees and family members in paving the way to a better quality of life for seniors, the disabled and those with special needs by planning, implementing and supervising programs addressing their short- and long-term medical, environmental and psycho-social needs.
"When it comes to the disabled in a facility or at home, care concerns are so complex that the trust fiduciary professional or family member making decisions regarding their care, living arrangements and general well-being needs an advocate primarily focused on their quality of life wishes and goals," says Eric Maynard, general manager of the new office. "Similarly, seniors in a facility or at home benefit greatly by having an advocate, especially when they have no family nearby to offer first-hand assistance."
IKOR provides peace of mind by attending to the care-related and environmental needs as well as the everyday affairs of clients. Certified medical staff handle responsibilities such as locating the best care facilities, monitoring those facilities, monitoring prescriptions, evaluating medical care providers, coordinating in-home care and ensuring that patients keep their healthcare appointments. IKOR business professionals administer responsibilities such as executing power of attorney authorizations and providing routine financial management.
IKOR's services are divided into three core areas equally critical to optimizing the quality of life for those in need of care, as well as their loved ones. These include:
* Professional, experienced dedicated personnel - Every IKOR office has a designated Registered Nurse Patient Advocate whose services are available all day, every day to address healthcare management, environmental or psychosocial crises.
* "The IKOR Approach" - A sophisticated system incorporating a need assessment, on-site quality assurance, care services coordination, and development of short term and long term strategic healthcare plans. The IKOR Approach addresses every medical, environmental, psycho-social, and educational issue that affects an individual, offering the best choices to address his or her specific needs.
* Sophisticated technology - DatikorĀ®, a proprietary database-driven system at the heart of The IKOR Approach, ensures that everyone officially involved in an IKOR client's case management has secure internet access to up-to-date information needed for seamless and accurate care.
