Boston, MA - The momentum keeps building for Koko FitClub, LLC, the fitness franchise revolutionizing the industry with spa-like clubs built around their groundbreaking, proprietary exercise technology- the Koko Smartraining System. Today the company announced a second developer will open Koko FitClubs in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Early January, new owner Barbara Doweidt will open her first club in the community of Keller, in The Shoppes at Keller Crossing, located at 1632 Keller Parkway. Mary Obana, President and Co-Founder of Koko FitClub, says of this most recent multi-unit agreement, "by adding Barb Doweidt to the Koko mix in the Dallas/Fort Worth region, we now have two excellent developers whose individual growth, energy and success will build off each other, enabling Koko to maximize the number of people we can help in the community. And, with the population density in and around these two cities, there is still plenty of opportunity for additional developers, plenty more people to help get healthy."
Barb Doweidt put a successful professional life on hold when she and husband Mike had their first child. There is no question about her priorities: "My main job has been raising my kids." It didn't keep her from thinking about the future, though, and now she's ready to start the next chapter of her life. "I have been waiting for this time when my kids were old enough to be out on their own. Now I can do something for me. Koko is my new baby."
Barb is going to raise that "baby" Koko in a town she fell in love with four years ago during one of Mike's job relocations. According to Barb, Keller is a "booming, health conscious, close-knit community." She sees Koko FitClub Keller as the perfect way to make inroads and a real difference in the lives and health of her adopted hometown. She's ready to get started: "I can't wait to be out there meeting people, branching further into the community and sharing Koko."
Obana is a big fan of Barb's infectious, positive energy. "She is so excited to get out there and turn people on to Koko. As a company, our ability to positively impact lives is 100 percent dependent on our owners and their ability to build meaningful relationships in the community. Barb is a natural relationship builder- she's going to be amazing."
Obana also points out that Barb and her husband, Mike, are no strangers to franchising. "Mike is franchising veteran with an accomplished career that spans 23 years." He started out as a franchisee for one of the largest, most respected brands in the business; now he is their Director of Franchising. Explains Mary, "we are very selective about awarding franchises and found a great fit with the Doweidts. I'm proud we are able to attract such quality owners. Barb and Mike may be new to Koko, but they are extremely well educated, mature franchisees. I could not be happier with the knowledge and experience they bring to the system as we build Koko FitClub into a major brand."
