It is a color magazine and the advertising revenue for ads placed in magazine is the primary basis for revenue. It also has options to print maps, specialty magazines and sell regionally and nationally using the TRAVELHOST brand (I never fully took advantage of all these opportunities).
Normally, you purchase a territory for $60,000 each and build your distribution, partnerships, designing your layout of the magazine, purchase maps, find a designer.

You get two distributorships, established distribution, partnerships, maps, and local and national recognition. I also have negotiated a special rate to publish a single edition despite having the two territories. Cycle is quarterly and set to match the seasonality of the business
In Santa Barbara it is Passport but a lot of other specialty magazines and maps, Ventura it is Presenting. Ojai - Ojai Visitor Guide; Solvang is similar to Santa Barbara with a lot of specialty magazines and maps. Carpinteria is Carpineria Magazine. The visitor bureaus are somewhat of a competitor but they only focus the immediate city and usually key distribution is out of the area.
Distribution - Hotels, airports, military bases; chambers, festivals; Readers - Primarily travelers most leisure but a lot of business throughout much of Ventura County.
Someone who wants to own and run their own business with a network of people and corporate to help provide guidelines and ideas to success. Additionally, someone who does not want to take the time to rebuild territory. It would really help if they lived in the immediate county of Ventura or Santa Barbara. They also have to be willing to make calls and be part of the community.
For the right buyer I will carry a up to 50%. I am not familiar with how that would work so I would need some guidance on that one.
